Fire Preventive measures
Fire Preventive measures taken by the NIBRA (Dutch Institute for Fire and Disaster Management), provide that all decorations must be constructed of fire resistant materials. WISA ENSCHEDE produce these flame retardant pennants already since 1998.
The material that we use is called Pyros and the band that made up the flags or pennants, is impregnated flame retardant aas well. The Dutch government maintains that the entrepreneur (supermarket retailer, manufacturer of consumer goods) have to take their responsibility in the field of fire and therefore must ensure that promotional materials are not can be a "fire communicator".

The model building code (which is defined to include any public buildings must meet fire safety requirements) provides that in areas larger than 50 m2 of the ornaments made from fire retardant materials should be.
